Abstract

After making direct observations at the Swiss-Belhotel Pangkalpinang housekeeping department, the researchers found differences in staff performance in the leadership of the old executive housekeeper and the new executive housekeeper. Where in the long leadership of the executive housekeeper the performance of the staff experienced problems where the work of the staff became slow and inefficient and lacked a sense of concern for fellow staff. In the leadership of the new executive housekeeper, the work of the staff became faster and more efficient and the housekeeping staff began to have a sense of concern for their fellow team members because they wanted to know the leadership style and supervision carried out by the new executive housekeeper in improving the performance of the housekeeping department staff. This study uses qualitative research methods to describe how the leadership style and supervision of the executive housekeeper in improving staff performance. Through the results of research from several sources, found the same point of view regarding the leadership style applied by executive housekeepers based on indicators of leadership style. The leadership style applied by the executive housekeeper is instructive, consultative, and supportive behavior. Also the same point of view regarding the supervision carried out by the executive housekeeper. Supervision carried out by the executive housekeeper by setting standards by preparing an action plan for its staff, taking measurements by checking all existing parts, comparison by conducting inspections and taking action if a problem or complain
